New review: Hierarchical vector analysis of visual motion perception
Motion perception can be used as a model system for some aspects of ‘higher-level’ cognition in the brain, including how our brains infer and represent the hierarchical structure underlying visual motion scenes. Together with our former postdoc Johannes Bill, Sam Gershman (Harvard Psychology) and I have written a review covering both classic and more recent work on this. Please check it out in our Hierarchical Vector Analysis of Visual Motion Perception that just appeared in Annual Review of Vision Science.
